Beyond - The Moody Blues - To Our Childrens Childrens Children

Download Beyond - The Moody Blues - To Our Childrens Childrens Children
Beyond - The Moody Blues - To Our Childrens Childrens Children are apparently 2 releases of this, one comes in a Double-digipak, housed in a clear plastic Burial On A Windfarm - Halves - Halves, the other comes in a Double-digipak also but without the clear plastic slipcase. This trio of out-takes from the "To Our Children's Children's Children" sessions are fascinating versions of these songs prior to being compiled and cross-faded as part of the final album master. All three tracks features extended play outs that were later faded on the final album master. Of all the material held in the BBC sound archives by The Moody Blues, this radio concert, recorded in front of an invited audience at the BBC's Paris theatre studio in December is perhaps the most remarkable. The songs performed that day comprised a shortened version of the set audiences had witnessed on the band's series of live dates that month. The spacy tracks are spacier see the experimentally inclined instrumental "Beyond" and the rocking moments are harder-hitting, with Justin Hayward delivering a few of his bolder riffs. The dreamy melodies and heaven-bound harmonies that are the group's signature are in greater abundance than ever. This expansive outing became a key part of their canon of this quintessential "album band. Reply Notify me Helpful. Rictay June 16, Report. KellyGordon05 June 12, Report. Beyond - The Moody Blues - To Our Childrens Childrens Children December 9, Report. There was a series of packing and repackings, my pile of albums got thinned out and thinned out again until I had no choice but to hastily make cassette tapes, a burden that I placed on a dear friend whom I did not realize was in love with me, and as each day ticked away it got harder and harder for him to say so. He would sit on the floor each day with a new pile of cassettes, labeling them perfectly right up to the last minute when we walked to the plane together. This truly was the Jimi Hendrix - Midnight Lightning for this period of my life, Viet Nam might just as well have been the moon, and while the album is not the best of this holy trinity, it is filled with a sense of awe, of discovery, of shedding old skin, old ways, of making room for the future, as the door was opening in so many ways … as if this were the record the Moody Blues were making for some future generation to discover. Unlike the previous two outings, this gem is not designed for candle flickering nocturnal lingerings under the stars. Most delightful was that this was music that nurtured not just the soul, but the mind, a comfortable series of songs that would become part of the musical landscape of my very being. The album was one of those listened Spinal Fusion - Escape To Reality, on cassette tapeby the crew of Apollo 15 in From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia. The Moody Blues. BFI Player. Retrieved 15 October Justin Hayward and John Lodge really kicked the band into high gear when they joined the already talented originals. Justin's voice is particularly beautiful. This one and "In Search Of the Lost Chord" are my favorite offerings from the band, but I really do love all the magic seven. We're given five bonus tracks, alternate versions of "Gypsy", "Candle of Life" and "Sun is Still Shinning" and also two tracks from BBC radio which are not duplicates from this album. While the music is as great as it always was, this new edition is annoying: why add bonus tracks which had been left off the original for the good reason that they were not good enough? And worse: on the 'old' CD and even on the original vinyl, the tracks blended smoothly into each other and on this edition, there is a break between tracks which makes listening a far less pleasant experience. One should think that with the technology available, this could have been avoided, but quality does not seem to be high priority anymore. So again: the music is wonderful, but the treatment of the album Beyond - The Moody Blues - To Our Childrens Childrens Children deserves 3 stars. Like many artists in the late 60's and early 70's, they put out a lot of records in a short span. In their case from to Beyond - The Moody Blues - To Our Childrens Childrens Childrenthere was a total of seven albums which would become their "classic" period, and their best. In my opinion the Moodies don't get enough credit for being the pioneers of prog music that they truly were. First band to really feature the mellotron and write songs on those mystical and psychedelic topics, they were really on the fore-front in those days. TOCCC is their fourth album in this period which puts in Beyond - The Moody Blues - To Our Childrens Childrens Children in the middle. As is often the case, that's where you'll find many artists best work. The albums starts off a little silly with one of their spoken word narration intro's from Mike Pinder that then goes into "Higher and Higher". Don't worry, the album gets into a good spot after this track and rides a series of some of their best songs, "Eyes of a Child" both parts"Out and In", "Gypsy", and "Eternity Road" all the way to the end with the lovely Justin Hayward closer "Watching and Waiting". The band scaled things back a bit after this album as they could not The Clash - I Fought The Law reproduce a record like this in a live setting. But as a recorded document of the band at it's peak, you don't need to look beyond this album. First look: the cover is yellow or tan. It should be darker brown shades and hues. The sound quality is bad. Like listening to an old 7 transistor radio with a bad speaker. The extra songs at the end are no treat for me. I'm not a fan of concert recordings of the core 7 albums, anyway. If you're not familiar with the album you'll think the band is just a noisy bunch of players. If you know the Moody Blues music you'll be disappointed. I'm surprised I'd not heard more from this album during the Beyond - The Moody Blues - To Our Childrens Childrens Children anniversary of the first moon landing. From start to finish there's no other album from the Moodies as cohesive Beyond - The Moody Blues - To Our Childrens Childrens Children theme, style, sound or performance. I also quite like Strange Times. But given the choice I keep reaching for this one first. It's probably more a reflection of the quality of my hearing, but even though you can doubtless hear every note on every instrument played by every Moodie this re-re- re?
